do multi-vitamin tablets make any noticable differance to your day,or would you be just as well off to eat tons more fresh vegetables ?
I know of a couple of vitamins like deep sea kelp,or primrose oil help some things, and echinacha is supposed to help ward off colds and flu.
but those one a day multi-vitamins..do you notice any real differance taking them or are they all just a sales ploy ?
I firmly believe we should take vitamin supplements. Between the decrease nutritional value of our foods to the negative environmental aspects of our lives, I think our bodies need more to function properly.
I take many different vitamins and herbs each day. Intensive farming with chemical fertilisers have reduced the vitamins in many natural foods. If you are eating a wide variety organically grown foods then you may be getting enough. Fast foods, snack meals etc make it likely that you are deficient in something. Many things give me migraine so I can't eat them. I have to be on a low fat, low salt, no red meat diet so I take multivitamins. I use other things in addition to help reduce cholesterol and blood pressure.
It can be a bit of a racket but I feel it is better to be safe than sorry.
I don't feel immediately sluggish if I don't take a dose but if i miss taking them for a few days I begin to feel less than 100% though some of that might be psychological becaue i know that I am no longer taking them.
Right now I take a nice Multi-Vitamin and some Fish Oil everyday and 'I Try' to eat healthy but I fail most times but I haven't been sick in at least a year and I think it has something to do with the vitamins I started taking roughly a year ago.
I used to take multi-vitamins and a few others, but i don't know if they made a whole lot of differance at the end of the day. there are a couple that seem to help our kids though....
Fish Oil I think everyone should take. And if you have sore/stiff joints try taking glucosemine (think I spelled it wrong). You want about 1500mg for a dialy does and the shit works. It removed all my joint aches and pains.
I actually bought some of that glucosamine a couple of weeks ago to see if it would help with my worn-out joints in my arms and elbows, but i stopped taking them while I was on antibiotics for my accident just in case there interfeared with them,I''ll be able to start on them again this week.
in the week or so I was on them, they did actually seem to help a lil bit,but I assume it would be more of a long term thing to see any real benefit.
