hey all.. I am looking for some help here. I recently bought a new computer and it came with Vista...

Anyway...I can not get into my other chat groups. I keep getting the message that I do not have a Java Compatible web browser. Can anyone please help a girl out..I would be ever so grateful

If your using Vista your must have Internet Explorer 7 unless you downloaded and installed another browser like Firefox.

You probably have the security set too high or you just need to install a java plugin. These would be my first guesses since I don't know what type of chat programs you are trying to access.

Sorry don't have Vista installed on my home PC but I do at work. If I remember I will take a look at the settings to see what page you need to go to adjust settings. Also make sure a popup blocker isn't preventing you from seeing the chat window too.

Look at the top of the browser - go to Tools, then choose Advanced along that windows tabs.

Scroll down to Java(Sun) or Java and make sure its checked in the box.

If its not, check it, apply/ok that window, and restart IE7.

Thanks for all your help today. Finally got it fixed. I had to go to the additional options in my control panel and select JAVA, then go to the avanced tab and make my IE7 the default browser. What a day...time for a bubble bath for sure!
