The Paranormal

Postby Claudia on Sat Feb 16, 2008 9:58 pm

Does anyone believe in the paranormal?

Has anyone ever had an experience with the paranormal?

I am very interested in this kind of thing. I have never personally had an experience but I do believe that there is a possibility of supernatural things.

All we mean by paranormal or supernatural is that there is no logical explanation from our current understanding of sciences. I have received help from acupuncture, shiatzu, reflexology and homeopathy. I have seen how some of these can help infants and animals so it isn't just placebo effects. But none of these treatments have any satisfactory explanation in current science.

Many people believe in God but there is no explanation or proof from science.

Paranormal covers many things with varying degrees of strangeness from the level of coincidences to the weird and spooky. I believe in some things and I am skeptical of others.

Where do you wish to begin?

well I have seen my dad 3 times over the past 20 years, and he died nearly 39 years ago when I was 7, so I guess you can say I believe in some things

Here's some really heavy stuff - The multiverse (or meta-universe) is the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes (including our universe) that together comprise all of reality. The different universes within a multiverse are sometimes called parallel universes. The structure of the multiverse, the nature of each universe within it and the relationship between the various constituent universes, depend on the specific multiverse hypothesis considered.

The specific term "multiverse," which was coined by William James and was popularized by science fiction author Michael Moorcock. In these contexts, parallel universes are also called "alternative universes," "quantum universes," "parallel worlds," "alternate realities," "alternative timelines," etc. and the possibility of many universes raises various scientific and philosophical questions.

So, based on the assumption that there are an infinate number of universes (multiverses) all existing together, there are times they intersect. In this universe your Dad died on a particular date while in others his date of death is either before or after the one in this universe. So when you see your Dad, it is at a point where the multiverses have intersected and you are seeing an image of your Dad from one of the multiverses where he has not yet died.

To answer your question, I believe in this stuff.

Since we have moved into quantum physics, we also should bear in mind that though we usually experience 3 space dimensions plus time (commonly known as space-time reality) there are another 7 dimensions of which we are not usually aware. It would be possible to postulate that "spirit" exists on one or more of these dimesnions and so might ESP or psychic phenomena.

These are often, in fantasy and sci fi books, called planes of existence.

Do I believe in life after death? Yes I do... I hope I'm right because I just hate the fact of there being nothing when we die. I guess it's good to hope that there might be something after this existence. Would I like to experience a paranormal event yes I would.

I don't really believe much into the different plains of existence theories and alternate universes.

A show that I enjoy watching is on the Discovery Channel and it's called 'A Haunting' and IF the stories and events are somewhat true then it would be cool to experience this least for me.

Ok here comes the crazy label maker for Nacho right? I've been communicating with and seeing dead people for almost my entire life. I can't say my whole life cuz I don't remember some of it. I've had interaction with some creatures most don't believe in also. Yes, I've had my psych evals and other than a borderline pollyanna personality disorder and a bit of depression/anxiety I'm ok.. no voices IN my head... I'm just Irish.

Also being a Witch, note I did not say Wiccan, I believe in the manipulation of time/space energy and manifesting a desired outcome through will. I also believe in reincarnation/past life experiences.

For an objective ghost hunting group check out the Ghost Hunters on SciFi channel.. TAPS is on Tuesday nights at .. 9 pacific .. not sure everywhere else.

The Paranormal, don't even get me started...too late. :) Yes I believe in the Paranormal, things unexplained by modern science. I believe in the power of the mind and the untapped abilities we all possess. Some of these are manifest more so than others. I don't claim to be a psychic by any stretch of the imagination, but I have experienced Deja Vu and had Premonition Dreams on occasion. The dreams don't happen when I want them to, they happen whenever.
I have never, to my knowledge, seen a ghost or apparition, but I have felt the presence of unseen individuals. I have relatives who have seen and conversed with the deceased. My father has seen my older brother, who died at 9 months old, as a grown man.
I have seen a mysterious object in the sky, which I have yet to explain, but I don't as yet mark it down as a "Flying Saucer", although my brother-in-law as claimed to seen UFO's on several occastions.
I am a occasional Hunter, and have spent several days in the mountains and forests, but have never seen an animal I couldn't identify, but that doesn't mean I don't believe Sasquatch is real. I am certainly open to the idea, remember that people "knew" the earth was flat.
I am open to the idea of Astral Projection and Remote Viewing due to a recent conversation I had with a good Friend who has experienced those things herself.
I firmly believe that our mortal eyes cannot see everything that exists on this earth in alternate dimensions.
I believe that the Government is in possession of technology that decades ahead of what the general public accepts as modern. I believe that numerous UFO sightings can be chalked up to Top Secret Aircraft being tested by the military, although I don't think every sighting is earth based.
There are more topics we can talk about, but I've said enough for now. :)
