Presidential Race for 2008

Postby DarkOne on Mon Apr 16, 2007 2:23 pm

I know this could be a touchy subject with some people but it's nice to get peoples opinions and why they think the way they do.

Hmmm so people running for president it is a worthy bunch? Personally I would say no. But we are going to have to choose. I know we still have about 2 years left but the canidates are already throwing punches :) There is still more canidates that will probably enter the race and those that will withdraw.

Who do you think the front runners will be?

I think for democrats it will be Obama least right now no one else is really a winner... hmm what about Hillary. Hell no she isn't going to win. It's not even the woman factor for me what it is the fact I cannot believe one word from that woman's mouth. She cannot be trusted and I think she will say and do anything for your vote.

Republicans ... hmmm top too many winners here personally for me. But if I had to pick I would choose Newt (he'll run) or Rudi.

I think there will be more strife in the middle east and with Russia and we will need someone with some backbone to lead the country. We are not like some other countries out there that believe in cut and run or waiting until its too late to fight. We need to protect ourselves and our interests. And right now our interests are protecting our childrens future.

In my opinion here is whats got to happen (Darkone's presidental bid here)

- Tighten borders. Build the F-ing wall and stop the flood of illegals into our country. Boot all of them that are not supposed to be here. They are leeching off our system and bankrupting our social systems. They collect social security when they shouldn't because they are not citizens and they collect welfare. You want illegals out deny all welfare and social security and healthcare unless they can pay. Sorry i'm a asshole on this but I get pissed off when I see people that are not even citizens get housing and social security benefits quicker than I can get them for my disabled mother who has been here her entire life! Explain that too me please.

- Welfare we need it yes because their are truely people that do need it. And there is also dirt bags out there that raise their children on how to cheat the system and live off it and never get a job. So after the illegals are taken care of you fill the jobs with the people on welfare that are able to work. Problem solved. And put limits on benefits 6months of benefits and then they stop for a year and you have to wait that long before you can get them again. Forces people to work or move!

- Political Correctness. This has got too change. Our kids are growing up to be disrespectful little shitheads and our response to that is stick them on meds. If I was disrespectful when I was a kid my dad took care of me. And I'm sure most everyone over 30 their dad's took care of them too. We need more of that today. People sueing over name calling or racial comments what crap. Reguardless of whether its right or wrong they still have the right to speak their minds. There needs to be less government in the household no one should tell me how to raise my children period. Our biggest problem today is our youth and it is getting worse. Kids expect things on a silver plater for them and they don't want to work but expect six figure salaries. The cure for our kids isn't saying they all have damn ADHD and stick them on drugs.

Crap maybe my parents brought me up old fashioned but I sure do thank them for it. I am thankful the beat my ass when I got out of hand. Because I look at myself now and I think I am a very good person with good values. I look at some parents today and they let their children walk all over them and children disrespect them left and right. Buck up parents and get firm with those children. Remember you are the boss.

With so much going on in today's world we forget about the kids... we look at the new plasma tv, trips, boats, homes etc... there are so many people today that are just ignorant to whats going on around them. Or they don't even know who our leaders are for instance do you know who the Secretary of State is? Or who the Speaker of the House is? If you don't you should know these are important positions in our government and we need to stay informed so we can cast that vote for the right person come 2008.

Well i'll stop ranting. We can agree or disagree but guess what we actually have that right to debate. Thank the troops for our freedom and never take it for granted.

So lets debate a little :)

I'm really getting tired of the he said she said bullshit! The media just amps it up with their "unbiased" reporting. if
one of these candidates would stop the BS and concentrate on the issues affecting us they would run away with it.
They should also be legally bound to what they say, if they don't do what they say they were going to do they should be removed from office and payback all salaries received.

I was leaning towards Rudi, but now Mccain is looking better,..... I think its going to end up like passed elections, pick
the best of two "Evils"! :?

And the lobbist should be...........

elections are all the same, they spend the whole time they are in office complaining there isn't enough money to go around hospitals etc,but as soon as election time rolls near suddenly they can afford to wheel out thousands of dollars..for their own benefit. !
the whole lot of them are only in it for themselves and the whole election campaign is about slinging shit at your opponents and hoping some of it sticks, usually the biggest slinger wins.

for once it would be nice to just have a politition actually do what they set out to do in the first place rather than be more interested in the gravy train ride while they have it..
personally,I don't think obama has much hope unless he changes his name.but thats just an observation from some-one from a differant country sitting on the fence watching.

If Rudi don't start winning some states he is done.

McCain = Democrat Light :) He really doesn't have a conservative bone in his body... he used too about 15-20yrs ago.

With today's technologies and how everything is recorded all politicians should own up to what they say and accept they said it. People do change and that's fine just don't disagree with what you said in the past.

Super Tuesday is coming and that's the day of all days and that will pretty much decide who is on top for both sides.

Personally I wanted Rudi or Mitt to be the republican this year because McCain just pissed me off with the whole illegal alien bills he was trying to pass.

But we will see in a few short days Florida is the next big state coming up.

I think the winning ticket for the Dems would be Clinton and Obama - experience and youth.

I've heard the word "experiance" used in referance with Mrs Clinton before. I don't know what "experiance" she has,
Maybe one of you could let me know?
I don't believe youth and the presidency of the United States is a good thing!

Here are some facts on Mrs. Clinton please read and go over these before blindly voting :)

And I agree Dano, experience and some age of the person do matter to me.

I don't believe any of them are worth voting for..
Lou Dobbs /Jack Cafferty ticket would work!
Get Keith Olbermann and Jon Stewart in the cabinet too..
They're the only talking heads who make any sense at all! 8)

Ourt system is not a perfect system. It is based on party politics and the one who wins the required delegates for their party becomes the candidate. Right now they are attempting to line up candidates.

When it comes to experience you have to not only look at their voting record, you have to look at the person and who they can bring to advise them if they win the election.

What I do know is that her husband was President and well respected by many of our allies, the same allies who don't seem to care for the current administration. As first lady, I am sure Hillary was present for all of the major decisions made under her husband's presidency. And this is waht she can bring to the presidency.

So, I again say a Clinton Obama ticket is the strongest ticket we can have. She bring the "experience" and he brings the youth and as the VP, if he can learn from the Clintons and become the heir apparent for the Democratic Party after her term is up.
