Google Web History

Hey Everyone

I was playing with my Google profile and decided to turn on the Web History option that google has and damn is it powerful and can track you anywhere. Basically in its basic mode it will just archive all searches you do on google when you are logged into your account. Which if you have cookies turned on that should be everytime you type http://www.google.com.

You can go into your history and see everything you searched on for everyday. I like it actually because I search for a lot of things and info for the website and I hate having 200-300 bookmarks so least this way I can search my history. You can upgrade this (free of course) to install a toolbar and it will track everything that you do.

Yeah I know all this is saved in googles databases and probably used for pushing ads and whatever. But it looks like it can be a good tool to also see what you children are searching for on google. Yeah you can block websites but unless you had a key logger you never really knew what they were trying to search for. So still not too bad.

In some ways I hate the fact that your data is being saved for someone else to take a look at. But I guess who cares because if the government wants it they can get it. What do you think about it? I know here in the states people don't think much about censorship and our internet experience is wide open and we can do what we want. But there is a lot of countries that really crack down on internet users experiences.

So check out web history at google and give us your feedback on it. Google also has a bunch of useful tools if you don't have an account you should get one to check them out. And no this isn't some advertisement :)

If Goog saves it all in a database to monitor, it could be worth directly searching all of our own websites.
