My first poll in the forum, would be interested in seeing results off of folk.

Are you a believer or a sceptic?

I think there is some type of spiritual form.... or least I hope. I hate to think that there is just nothingness after we die. So yes I believe in ghosts doesn't everyone

This is a tricky one for me to classify. I voted on having seen one. I was staying at a friend's house and told her that I had the distinct impression that an elderly lady had come into the guest bedroom. "That's interesting" she replied, "My god daughter told me the same thing and my younger son has seen her, too. I think she just checks out the people who sleep in that room". It wasn't an unpleasant or scary exp0erience just odd. Not a real sighting but a faint shadowy figure.

When I visited an old castle at night ( a private party booking for dinner) the curator suggested that we visit the haunted room and turn the lights out. "I will not talk you into anything but let's just see what happens, if anything". After a few minutes getting used to the darkness, I and a few others saw small pale blue lights hovering and slowly drifting about. In parapsychology, these are classed as signs of spirit activity in a place.

Man I want too see some stuff like that so bad. I watch that Ghost Hunters show all the time on SciFi.

Only real problem with seeing them on a regular basis is that they seem to KNOW you can see them and sometimes they will hound you. Mostly they don't follow you home though, which is a nice thing.

My first ghost experience that I remember, I was 5 years old and playing in my bedroom when the 'wet girl' came in my room and she was crying. I had her sit and play with me.. we talked for a long time til my mom came in and asked me who I was talking to. I said, the wet girl. No one was there of course.

My Gramma Delia, who lived next door, but was not my grandmother at that point.. told us about a little girl who had lived in the house we lived in and had drowned in the creek in the back yard many years before.

Animals have ghosts too.. just in case you were wondering.

So, yes, you could say I am a believer... not like I have a lot of choice in the matter.

Definitely believe in ghosts, or spirits(souls) if you will. To me they are all the same thing. My take on it is, they are among us constantly, everyday, everywhere. They are trapped here, existing on a alternate plane (or dimension), by the vices or misdeeds they preformed in their mortals lives. They are forced to re-experience those misdeeds for the rest of eternity. Some misdeeds are more severe than others, of course, thus the varying levels of malevolence found in ghosts, due to the suffering they have to endure. In other words, this dimension is what we would call "hell", although I don't believe that the devil or his demons exist there. That is another dimension entirely, although that is not to say they can't visit.
The reason we see ghosts from time to time is based on two things. They want to be seen, and we are receptive to seeing them, meaning we have they ability due to state of the unconscious mind being "in tune" with the ethereal projections these spirits are able to do. They know who can see them, and may or may not allow us to see them. The same is true for sounds or voices from this dimension.
As a side note, all living things have a spirit. Every animal, every leaf, every blade of grass has a ethereal equivalent which is why sometimes we see deceased pets. They, too, are trapped because they don't have higher intelligence and understanding that humans have. They don't suffer like their human counterparts do, because they are not governed by the higher power we call God and therefore are not subject to the same punishments.

I have to beg to differ with you slightly Bandy luv.. if ghosts are simply the spirits of those who have done wrong... why would there be child spirits, children who were killed by accident?

Could be victims are trapped too. I hadn't considered Children. That is something I'll have to give some thought to.

I've overheard my kids talking to their deceased Grandfather when they were younger. It seems to me that children can more easily see them and most of us lose that ability when we get older.
